My Father, Robert Sykes, passed away after a 2 year battle against Prostate and linked Bone Cancer on 31st December 2011.

On Boxing Day he was admitted to the Royal Berkshire Hospital with Neutropenic Sepsis and a chest infection. Once admitted his chest infection was diagnosed as Pneumonia. He was put on Oxygen, antibiotics and morphine.

After a five day fight he had no more fight left in him, and passed away in my mothers arms on New Years Eve.

Roberts family give their heartfelt thanks to the Staff of the Royal Berkshire Hospital for everything they have done for him over the passed two years, and the last five days of his life, he could not have been given better treatment.

This Book of Remembrance is being set up for all Roberts family, friends and colleagues who have known him throughout his life to pay their respects to a man who touched the heart of everyone who knew him. He was very much loved, and loved his family very much.

You were the best father, father-in-law and grandad. You listened and helped everybody. You did not need to suffer in any shape, way or form. You are loved by all and rest in peace.
You will always be looking down on everyone and in all our hearts.
